Happy birthday to me.... DRUMS!!!

    I am back and ready for the blog once again my friends. I hope you enjoyed the randomness while I was away from the blog.
    Today I am posting a video and a Audio File of me drumming. This is because as I search for new projects in the music industry I am usually asked to show some kind of proof that I drum.
    So here is a video of me jamming around on a very old and badly tuned drum kit at a friends house, and then an AUDIO file of me playing around my drum kit, exploring different beats, styles, and rhythms that I like to play.

(The audio file is long ((17 minutes)) of pure drumming with no accompaniment, and it is random, meaning I just stopped in between samples of a pattern, waited a second or two and then started playing again.

- PROTESTA JULY MIX -

I have been digging this mix lately since I heard it a week or two ago. The opening track sequence is a weird mix between "just chill" and "bop your head and feel pumped up". I really dig the bongo hand percussion styles in it. Enogh talk, its a nice flow so I feel you should give it a go. (Thanks Pro testa)

I just saw the documentary by director Doug play, documenting a couple sick graffiti artists in NYC, Philly, and California. It is not a quick movie, with a decent run time of about 2 hours or something, but the time will fly and I was left feeling kind of sad that it ended. What made this film so good was the variety of artists we meet, from Claw (young hot female artist and designer), to ENEM, outspoken gay philly bomber, to Jayce the sort of calm quiet train-yard slaughterhouse.  They even have a guy on here who is obsessed with buffing out graffiti. Anyway, This movie kept me inspired throughout, even thugh it does a good job of showing us the dark side of the mind that graffiti artists often suffer in, the sick twisted thoughts that are "required" to be part of this community, the prices paid for there obsession, and consequences, good and bad. All i know is I am getting a marker and today, a toy is born.
